The cupola was a beauty! But I wasn't fortunate to be around when this building was still standing. RIP Singer Building!

It was such a nice looking building. But soon we we will also be without the Hotel Penn - figure that one out.

What exactly was going through the minds of the people who razed this building? Was it a simple case of making a huge amount of money by increasing the available space on the plot? It's such a shame that the Singer Building is gone and soon the Hotel Penn too.

Redevelopment of the city in those days to make way for office space was all important. They decided to demolish this building without thinking that in the future people may actually be interested in an early old skyscraper.
